Art Deco Armitage Ware Amber Basin & Pedestal

Here for sale is an incredibly rare basin and pedestal with 2 tap holes made by Armitage Ware, otherwise known as Edward Johns & Co and later Armitage Shanks, in Amber. Amber is a dark yellow colour popular in the 1930s and 1950s, however this particular basin has a marble effect which was originally not an intentional design. Armitage Ware were the first bathroom makers to attempt to produce coloured bathroom ware, whilst first attempting this many products developed a marble like effect after production. Whilst still figuring out how to make standard coloured ware, Armitage released the marble like sanitaryware items into the market and they proved to be popular among consumers at the time.

Delivery available at an extra cost, however, collection is preferred due to the fragile nature of this antique item.
