Red KAN Retro Toilet Seat

This very retro toilet seat is made by KAN and dates from the 1960s. It is in the colour red which was briefly a popular choice of colour for toilet seats in the 1960s, making it a very unusual and rare piece. The seat is reclaimed and has some loss of paint on the lid and age related marks but there is no fading to the colour and it is still as glossy as it would have been brand new. It is made from quality wood fibres and has a  lacquer finish.

This toilet seat was made in Sweden by KAN, otherwise known as ‘Kandre’. KAN is a Swedish company founded in 1948 specialising in high quality toilet seats and were highly popular during the 1960s and 1970s.
